A networked DVR is connected to a standard TV. The DVR is able to record shows and make these available throughout the home for viewing on networked TVs. The DVR projects a rich user interface via the TV, enabling access to content and control of playback not just in the living room, but across the entire home. The living room, as well as the rest of the home, can also be controlled from an iPhone, phones based on the Android platform, or Symbian-based Wi-Fi smart phones from mobile phone market leaders such as Nokia.


Media Room

A set of actively amplified networked surround loudspeakers is connected to a networked TV. The loudspeakers provide 7.1 surround sound without the need for a bulky surround processor. The TV offers a rich user interface, providing access to a wide range of on-line content services, as well as content stored on the DVR in the living room and on the home PC and media server in the study room. The UMPC equipped with a 5 inch touch screen acts as a rich graphical controller for the media room as well as other parts of the connected home.

The TV offers a rich user interface, providing access to a wide range of on-line content services, as well as content stored on the DVR in the living room and on the home PC and media server in the study room. The networked lifestyle radio is able to play content from on-line sources, as well as content the home PC and media server in the study room. The PC and acts as a media server and provides a rich interface for content access and playback control.

 


Bathroom

The in-ceiling speakers are able to play content from on-line sources, as well as content the home PC and media server in the study room. The speakers can play audio synchronously with the networked TV or the lifestyle radio in the bedroom.

The PC and acts as a media server and provides a rich interface for content access and playback control. The dedicated media hub stored a large library of high-quality content. The hub also provides the home network, acting as simple to install media-grade Wi-Fi router.
